History of Adelyn Alpacas

Adelyn Alpaca stud was first registered in November 1994 after Joyce & Jeffery were introduced to Alpacas. We bought 3 sets of Dam / daughter crias which became the start of our herd. At this time they were on Agistment with other breeders in the Geelong area.

We moved to our current location of 38 acres at Modewarre in late 1995 to allow for our stud to expand. With careful selection of excellent genetics, our quality stocks have emerged. We now offer full time management of alpacas at our stud.

We have participated in Alpaca Shows from the beginning and thus our Stud is well known by the majority of alpaca breeders.

We have also sold many alpacas to overseas practically New Zealand, with breeders coming back for repeat sales.

Our backgrounds are diverse from farming as Joyce comes from a nursing background being a midwife (thus an excellent animal welfare understanding and birthing advantage) and Jeffery from an engineering power industry background which helps in the hands on daily farm work.

Jeffery has also been involved with the AAA in the Western Victoria Region as Region President for 2 terms, plus several years on the region committee and show committees.
